da al Manar – 31/03/2010 Lebanon’s Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri referred on Wednesday the municipal electoral draft law to the parliamentary joint committees for further debate. “I found this to be the best solution,” Berri said following a broad meeting of parliamentary committees in Nejmeh Square.
“This is the best solution for the best interest of the law,” Berri told reporters.
Berri said that there was no link between the Parliament’s work and the government’s one.
“The cabinet is free to do whatever it want and we are also free,” he said in response to a question about the intention to postpone the municipal elections.
